How We All Hallucinate Our Reality Into Form
By Dorraine Fisher
Conscious reality is not formed around or outside us. It’s formed within us. We create it ourselves by virtue of our perceptions or how we think about it. Yes, it’s true. So, the next time you’re complaining about how the world is screwing you over, remember that’s actually the reality you’re creating for yourself. You think it, therefore it happens.
And it’s interesting how people think that THEIR version of reality is the real one. And that other people are just not able to see it. And then, on the other hand, in the paranormal world, when people see things that aren’t supposed to exist, other people just tell them they’re hallucinating and what they saw wasn’t real. It can cause a lot of discourse between the groups who believe themselves to be the intelligent ones and the ones on the opposite that some try to say are the the less intelligent ones. They did, after all, see something that wasn’t real. Or did they? Given advances in neuroscience and physics, the lines between real and unreal are being seriously blurred.
And the real truth is, nothing’s real...and EVERYTHING’S real...depending on your perspective...and your brain.
There is no REAL reality that we can all see exactly the same. Our reality is a very personal thing and all about our personal perceptions. And these perceptions are based on who we are, where we come from, how we’ve lived our lives, and the quality of the lives we’ve lived. They’re based on past information that we’ve collected in our brains. So, the way we see everything around us is a kind of controlled perception. But perceptions can get out of control. And when these perceptions are too strong, they become uncontrolled perceptions. And they can create hallucinations similar to psychosis or altered states.
So, think about this. If a hallucination is just a kind of uncontrolled perception, then ALL of our perceptions are just types of hallucinations of varying degrees; “controlled hallucinations” of sorts.
So, by this definition, we’re all hallucinating our reality right now. Our brains are using past experiences to make predictions about what we’re seeing around us. And these predictions can vary from person to person, depending on their varying personal experiences. It’s just that when we all have the same hallucination, we all determine that to be the real reality. We all saw it. We all saw it the same way. So it must be reality, right?
Wrong! We all just happened to hallucinate the exact same way...that time. Next time we’ll all hallucinate differently and swear everyone else just isn’t seeing something that’s truly there. You’ll believe that what YOU’RE seeing is reality, while what they’re seeing is a hallucination. When it might actually be the other way around.
It’s the ultimate mind trip, but, no matter who or what we are, we’re all just hallucinating our way through our lives every single day.
So, are you questioning your existence right now? Good.
