Ancient petroglyphs around the world were the earliest form of storytelling for posterity. Many depict great detail in them about the lives the artists led and some significant events that took place during their time.

The rock drawings of Valcamonica, a valley in the Alps of northern Italy, are really no different, and like many other petroglyphs in the world, have some very curious details that are open for debate to those of us willing to take up the task. They are believed to be at least 8000 years old, and though there were many cultures that probably contributed to this artwork, most of the credit goes to a people known to the ancient Romans as the Camunni, or people of unknown origin.

Though most of the depictions are of hunting scenes, battle scenes, and other such events, there are some strange depictions that require a little further explanation and could be open to debate for ancient astronaut theorists. Check out these photos first.



Definitely a depiction of the wildlife in the area and abundance of food sources.

And then there are these:



These clearly depict battle scenes in which the men are holding weapons.
But then, things get a little strange, and we find these:


These may, to ancient astronaut theorists, appear to be some kind of beings in a type of space suit. But other experts argue that these are just men in a battle scene wearing some type of helmets and wielding their weapons. The problem is that in none of the other battle scenes above are the warriors wearing this type of “helmet.” And they are also not using any “weapons” that look like these. It looks more like these beings are holding some kind of instruments or tools.

And take a look at this photo:

This depicts some kind of symbol that I thought I’d seen before. I thought about it for a while and then I remembered. It looks very similar to designs I’ve seen in photos of crop circles like these:




Of course, this isn’t any definite proof of extra-terrestrial connections. But then there are pictures like these:


These types of depictions don’t look very interesting at first glance, but the characters are considered to be praying. Watch this video about these inscriptions. Even though the narrator denies any alien connection in the “space suit” photo, he makes a startling and somewhat otherworldly observation about these praying men and the Orion Nebula.
