Bigfoot General Descriptions and Information
Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, is a legendary creature said to inhabit remote forests, especially in the Pacific Northwest of North America. Descriptions vary, but here are the common elements:

Height: 6 to 10 feet tall
Appearance: Covered in dark brown or black hair.
Build: Muscular, ape-like body with long arms
Face: More human than animal, often described as having deep-set eyes and a pronounced brow
Feet: Very large footprints (hence the name), often 15–24 inches long.

Origins & Lore:
Native American legends speak of large, wild men of the forest long before the term “Bigfoot” was coined in the 1950s.
The modern Bigfoot myth grew from reported sightings, footprint casts, blurry photos, and videos, such as the famous 1967 Patterson–Gimlin film.
Evidence:
Anecdotal: Sightings, eyewitness accounts, blurry images, and videos.
Physical: Footprint casts, hair samples (often traced to known animals), and tree structures.
Scientific consensus: There's no conclusive (accepted) evidence that Bigfoot exists. Most scientists attribute sightings to hoaxes, misidentifications, or folklore.
Is Bigfoot real?
Believers think Bigfoot is a reclusive, possibly endangered species of hominid or ape.
Skeptics view it as a cultural phenomenon fueled by hoaxes, storytelling, and human psychology (pareidolia, confirmation bias, etc.).
I personally know it is real.
The Problem:
The presence of hoaxes and sensationalism has created a credibility barrier that honest researcher constantly has to push against. It’s frustrating when serious fieldwork gets lumped in with fabricated stories, clickbait, or is just overlooked.
But we keep pushing.
