Dare You Enter The Most Haunted Hotels In America?

Fancy an unusual vacation? How about visiting some of the most haunted hotels in America. These are places that are steeped in history, shadowed with the memories of murders, suicides and untimely deaths. There are regular reports of ghosts, evil spirits and poltergeists and events that simply cannot be explained. You can spend the night, or simply just visit and soak up the atmosphere. Just make sure you are prepared to be terrified.

Anderson Hotel

Kentucky’s Anderson Hotel, situated in Lawrenceburg is one of the spookiest buildings in the state. Some of the most violent and shocking paranormal activity has been reported at the hotel and even captured on camera. The hauntings were so terrifying, that the Anderson was closed and has now been sealed off for the past thirty years. Paranormal researcher Donnie Irvin bravely visited and experienced a burning sensation on his skin when visiting the abandoned hotel, which manifested in actual bite marks.

Previous hotel guests have heard unexplained footsteps echoing through the halls and seen shadowy figures going in and out of the rooms. They have even talked about having their hair pulled by someone that wasn’t there. There have been reports of creatures dragging themselves along the floor. The hotel has a somewhat sordid history, there have been several murders and suicides there and numerous unnatural deaths. In the stairwell it is said that there still lies a bloody mattress, from the suicide of a girl who slit her wrists in bed. Fancy unsealing the door and going into the Anderson Hotel? Certainly not for the faint-hearted.

Red Lion Inn

The Red Lion Inn, in Stockbridge, Massachusetts is a favorite with ghost hunters and paranormal investigators. You can spend the night at the hotel - guest room 301 is particularly popular if you're looking for the unusual. There are frequent reports of electrical disturbances, unexplained knocks, cold spots and the very eerie feeling of having someone standing over your bed, watching you. While you’re there, look out for the man in the top hat and the girl carrying a bunch of flowers - they are commonly seen floating in a white mist.

Hanover Inn

The Hanover Inn in Dartmouth, New Hampshire has a sad tale to tell. Back in 1934, nine fraternity brothers died at the inn of Carbon Monoxide poisoning following a gas leak. Since then, there have been regular sightings of the brothers, together with nine ladies - presumably their dates for the evening. There are numerous reports of guests at the Hanover coming across a room that isn’t there, perhaps a portal to a parallel realm. There are often unexplained strange noises, objects that go missing and misty figures seen walking the hallways. The Hanover Inn has made the most to cash in on the hauntings, offering guests a “Ghostly Romance” package when they stay, including a bottle of wine.

Any serious ghost hunter should pay a visit to these haunted hotels. They may hold a clue to what happens when we move off this earthly realm into the afterlife.
