We have all seen the video of what appears to be someone getting rescued a split second before being hit by a truck. Many have said this video is actually real and that the hero is really an angel. That it is proof of teleportation.  According to them the angel used super powers to save the person's life and teleported them out of harms way.

The video was supposedly captured in CCTV in China and many speculated it was everything from an alien to an angel to a time traveler. But there is something much more earthly to the mysterious video. But before we get into that lets watch the video again and then tell you more about it.

While the video is impressive and has fooled many people, it is not real. Yes, I would love for there to be real Supermen who can save us from harm, but there just isn't any like we see in the movies.

The video is actually an advertisement for a Chinese computer game called Dragon Totem Girl (Zhu Xian 2). If you will notice after the truck passes and the near hit is averted there is a image on the roadway, this is the logo of the company. The game a massively multiplayer online role-playing game where you use power, like teleportation, to make the world a better place.

The company behind the clever advertisement is called Monkey Watching. You can actually go to their blog, found here, and see some pictures of the main character and other ways it was marketed. There are links to other videos, including the one here, but the original account has been terminated. The do describe the video, so it is clear the one they are featuring and there are images of the girl walking on a street.

You can actually see this video and many others on the actual games website, found here, of course it is all in Chinese. There are other videos of the main character using her powers. Also notice the logo, it is the same as appears on the roadway, only not in color. The game looks good.

So, in the end this was just a good marketing video that took on a life of its own. While I do remember many years ago hearing about real teleportation test being conducted, it was nothing like in this video. I think the test involved an apple and moving it from place to another about 10 foot away.

Oh, well....there will be many people who still believe this video to be of someone or some being with real super powers.

Thanks
~Tom~
