I recently ran across a report that while it rang familiar, it was one I had never read before. It takes place here in my home state of Kentucky, in Perry County. There are numerous reports of hunters seeing or encountering Bigfoot. What makes this one a little different is that it also involves a hunting dog. It has long been my stand point that Bigfoot does in fact dislike dogs and that dogs are pretty much terrified of Bigfoot. My stance is base off of person experience.

Its not be very long ago that there was a report about a Bigfoot killing a coon dog. I think that it may happen more that we know or more that it is reported. I know of many hunters who "lost" a dog while hunting. Sometimes the dog would be found and other times it would not.

Now back to this report I had never read.
Two brothers had went squirrel hunting with their dog. As they were walking along a high ridge, they suddenly heard the sounds of a ferocious fight between their dog and some kind of animal. The dog, which had been out of sight around a cliff, yelped in pain. As the two men rounded the cliff edge they saw a huge, brown man-like creature that walked upright.

The creature had broken the dog's spine in several places. As the creature turned, one of the men shot it at point blank range with a 12 gauge shotgun. The shotgun was loaded with buckshot. The creature didn't appear to feel anything from the blast. It jumped off the cliff edge, which was around 15 feet straight down, and ran into the timber.

Afterwards, several other people reported seeing the animal in that same area.

This reported event happened in 1910.

I found this report in a book I recently purchased. The title of the book is Tragedy at Devils Hollow: And Other Kentucky Ghost Stories by Michael Paul Henson . There are several other Bigfoot stories in the book along with many other mysterious tales.

There were two things that really peaked my interest in this particular story. One was the part about the dog being injured by the Bigfoot, it probably died later to be honest. And second was that it took place in 1910. Up until now the oldest case, other than the Daniel Boone tale, I could find from my general area was in the 1940's. So, this is a good historical case from my general area. I thank the author of the book, Michael Paul Henson, for preserving this story. In the book, the two men are his dad and uncle.

Thanks
~Tom~
