He was clearing a path he regularly used for target shooting when, out of the corner of his eye, he noticed movement near the ravine. He stopped the mower and looked more closely. A large shape was walking away from him through the undergrowth. He saw only its back, no face.

At first, he thought it might be a bear. But the figure was walking upright and continued to do so until it vanished from view, longer than a bear typically would or could manage on its hind legs. He wondered if the sound of the mower had startled it.

In a later conversation with a BFRO investigator, the witness described the figure as standing 7 to 8 feet tall, covered in long hair, longer than what a bear would have. He said he watched it for several minutes, and it remained on two feet the entire time.

The following day, the witness returned to the area. He found no tracks, but did notice disturbed brush and a game trail.

He also mentioned that his neighbor had recently lost several Guinea fowl and turkeys, with only scattered feathers left behind across both properties. The neighbor installed trail cameras to identify the culprit, but so far has only captured foxes and coyotes. Given the evidence, it’s reasonable to suspect those animals may be responsible.

The neighbor also noted a sharp decline in the local deer population over the past few years, both on his land and in the surrounding area.

The witness described a persistent feeling of being watched. At the end of September, he had placed pumpkins at the back of the property for the deer. When he returned to check on them, they were gone—not eaten or picked at, just completely missing.

The sighting occurred in a rugged, hilly area with dense woods of maple and oak. The ravine where the figure disappeared has a creek running through it. The land is private and sees little to no human traffic.
