Swamp Gas… Really?
For decades, “swamp gas” has been used as a convenient explanation for UFO sightings, but let’s be real: it doesn’t hold up.
Swamp gas is a real phenomenon—flickering lights caused by methane and other gases from decaying vegetation in wetlands.
But it:
• Glows low to the ground
• Flickers or floats briefly
• Doesn’t shoot across the sky, hover at altitude, or perform intelligent maneuvers
In 1966, after dozens of credible witnesses, including police, reported strange lights in the sky over Michigan, the official response from Project Blue Book was… You guessed it: swamp gas. Even Dr. J. Allen Hynek, the scientist behind the explanation, later admitted it didn’t fit the case.
Structured craft?
Radar confirmation?
Movement at high speed or altitude?
That’s not swamp gas.
It’s time we stop using weak excuses for strong encounters.
