Stanley "Stan" Romanek is an author and UFO enthusiast who appears in the media and has spoken at the International UFO Congress. Romanek claims to have been abducted by aliens, to have been implanted with an alien artifact, sustained mysterious injuries inflicted by aliens, experienced telepathic communications with aliens, and dressed in women's clothing by aliens.

Romanek was arrested on February 13, 2014,  and charged with possessing and distributing child porn. The police seized a laptop computer that had over 300 images of child pornography and videos on it.

But is there more to the story?

Romanek in an affidavit, admitted he had seen child pornography on his computer but was unsure of how the images got there. Romanek and his wife put forth the idea that they were the target of hackers and that it was an effort to stop him from talking about UFOs and aliens.

The case against Romanek, after some delays, finally made it to the court. The jury found Romanek guilty on one count of sexual exploitation of a child.  Romanek was found not guilty on a second charge of distributing child pornography. Romanek is currently free on bond and his sentencing is scheduled for October 19th. The sentence for child pornography can carry a sentence of 4 to 12 years in prison.

I do not know all the details about this case, but from what little I have researched it, there seem to be several other players involved and there seem to be a lot of twists and turns.

On Netflix, there is a documentary about Stan Romanek entitled Extraordinary: The Stan Romanek Story. I have watched that film and some of it is really interesting. Some of the things presented appear to be fake to me. It could be that Stan is being hoaxed on some of it.

These are the types of posts I do not enjoy doing. I hope the charges on Romanek are not true, but if they are, he should be locked up for a long time. I have no respect or sympathy for those who sexually abuse children.

Does his charges and guilty verdict take away from his claims of UFO activity? Not necessarily, it just means he, if the charges are true, is a slim ball who has had possible UFO encounters.
