Can We Heal Ourselves With Energy From Sound?
Exploring The Ancient Concept of Chakras

By Dorraine Fisher

Have you ever heard new agers talking about the seven chakras and you promptly blew it off because you just don’t aspire to that “nonsense.” Well, we all need to rethink a lot of things and this is one of them. And I’ll tell you why and what it has to do with paranormal subjects.

Paranormal investigators understand energy in ways that other people don’t. That’s why I often say that they are advanced in many ways in their thinking. They have to think outside the box in order to go where the evidence leads them. They can’t have preconceived notions about the outcome.

And I admit there have been times when I’ve dismissed a subject simply because, at first glance, it seemed hokey to me and not worth my time. But once I decided not to do that any more, with any subject,  it’s made my research a whole lot more interesting, and enlightening. WE ALL NEED TO STOP DISMISSING THINGS BECAUSE THEY DON’T SOUND RIGHT TO US.

Because energy is everything. And everything is energy. Everything vibrates at a certain frequency, including us. It’s the driving force in the universe, and it’s everywhere. It’s even in rocks. Why else would we use gold and silver and quartz in our electronics? It’s because of the energy they contain. And if that energy source runs out, our devices won’t function.

But most importantly to us, our bodies need it to drive ourselves forward. We really are a vessel driven by a central energy source. And if that energy source is impeded, we break down.  And it’s important to know a little bit about how that energy source works. And it might also be good to know that we might have a little more control over it than we think.

Paranormal research can take you in some weird directions. And in my recent research of sound frequencies and their effects, I decided to explore the ancient idea of a chakra system as the driving force of our being. Those little supposed energy wheels that spin at our core. And I have to tell you, I didn’t buy into it. And I skipped over it every time I saw it. But as I’ve been exploring sound resonance and its effect on humans, it was only reasonable to try and disprove this chakra idea or start reluctantly accepting it.  And this came about when I started listening to different sound frequencies and how they affected me physically.

So, stay with me on this.

This illustrates the supposed chakra system and what each chakra controls.  The first is the root chakra always in red. It controls your basic survival instincts and your decisions in that regard to your trust and your perceived threats. The second, always in orange, your sacral chakra is said to activate your pleasure, sexuality, and your creative force. The third in yellow is your solar plexus chakra, responsible for your inner strength and power, your resolve and determination; your literal intestinal fortitude. The fourth in green is your heart chakra, of course responsible for love and empathy and your ability to heal and nurture. The fifth in turquoise blue is your throat chakra responsible for your communication skills and your ability to make yourself heard. The sixth in royal blue is your brow or third eye chakra, responsible for your awareness, your ability to see things for what they really are, and to recognize truth. And finally, your seventh in purple is your crown chakra responsible for your wisdom and sense of your connection to the universe or belief in a higher power.

Are you turned off yet? I was. I thought this was pure hokum. But I, as a paranormal writer and researcher should know better than to think that way. So I stopped myself. Because  I know energy is very real, as every paranormal researcher knows, and in the interest of that research, I kept going. Because truthfully, I love to have my paradigms challenged. It makes me feel like the world is opening up.

Over all my years of study of paranormal subjects and ancient mysteries, the more I learn, the more I’m convinced that the ancients were far more advanced than us in many ways. And Hinduism is at the center of that knowledge. And energy flow and manipulation is their main focus. Like in yoga, it’s all about keeping the energy balanced and flowing in order to promote health. And there are many who believe that early Hindus had contact with some kind of advanced culture that taught them these things...that are largely ignored by western culture.

But first, as I was working with sound frequencies, I realized their potential to cure disease and flawed mental states.  After all, our body is a vibrational organism. Our cells vibrate. Healthy frequencies promote health. Unhealthy frequencies hinder it.  So naturally, it led me to the chakras. And I had to know if they were a real thing. I wasn’t quite sure how to do this, but I just started experimenting with them. For instance 528 hz made me feel stronger inside, while 110 hz made me feel like I was floating. It was quite an experience, as some of the frequencies were downright unpleasant and I had to be careful. But it’s important to note that all the frequencies I experienced seemed to affect my entire body at once.

But I came across a several meditations on Youtube that claimed to “activate” all the chakras. And I reluctantly tried one to see if I could feel anything that would make me believe these spinning wheels exist. I had to get my mind set because I had to keep it open if I was going to learn anything at all, though I really had no expectations. Except that I expected to be bored. And I was, at first. The first time I listened, it sounded like your typical brainwaves meditation. Ambient music to help a person relax. But it claimed to be very powerful and I wanted to give it a fair chance, so I listened again. But...nothing new appeared that I could tell.

But I thought about it for a while, and I remembered reading about how westerners aren’t used to “feeling” energy like other cultures that revolve around that. And we simply don’t like to feel things.  So I felt I had to overcome that and focus in more on what I was feeling...and where I was feeling it.  And that’s when it happened. The third time I listened, I realized the first frequency could be felt at the root chakra only. I didn’t expect this, but as plain as anything, I could FEEL the sound at the bottom of my spine. Then, it changed frequencies. And I could feel it move up to my supposed second chakra, the sacral chakra. The Hindus claim they spin at a particular rate of vibration and they can become deactivated by impeded energy flow to them. And that can make a person feel unwell or even cause that feeling of being “dead inside.”

As I felt the frequencies in the meditation change, seven times for seven chakras, I felt like I was being literally brought back to life from the root to the crown. When it got to the frequency for the brow chakra or third eye chakra, I felt strange electrical impulses in my forehead. I had not expected to find this. And for a while, I thought I might be making this up in my own mind, but after several more experiments and comparisons, I decided this was real. I could really feel the sound in seven different places along my center.

Now I admit this is not a scientific test, but if the chakras don’t really exist, then why did I feel the sound frequencies in those seven places individually? It’s because the chakras are real. And if the chakras are real, then maybe they do really regulate those aspects of ourselves. And maybe they really can be activated by sound waves of the right frequency. And if that’s true, then we have control over a lot more about ourselves than we realize. We can reactivate certain aspects of our lives by applying the right energy, in this case sound resonance, to that particular chakra.

The more I learn about energy, the more I realize that mastering it and harnessing it and learning to work with it may be the key to everything; every problem we have as humans. I believe this is the sacred knowledge we claim was lost to humanity, but it was right in front of us all along. Remember, Albert Einstein said this: “Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy, this is physics.”  And even though I still have a lot to learn about this, I feel I understand that statement much better now.

If you don’t believe me, that’s okay. Many will still scoff at the idea and go on feeling dead inside.  But I think if something has the potential to help a problem we have, it’s always worth trying.

Are you feeling brave? Check out the meditation with your headphones on and tell me what you think.

  1. This has probably been one of the most important, and useful blogs that I have read in a very long time. A friend of mine has been talking to me about this recently, and now reading your blog helps emphasize what he has been saying. I plan to use this as part of my daily practice. Thank you!
