Bigfoot vocals in Kentucky
Bernheim Forest Area

Possible Bigfoot Vocals from Kentucky

This audio was recorded by Tyler Patton in the Bernheim Forest in Kentucky. The audio was pretty low, so Tyler allowed me to boost the audio and share it. Here is what Tyler told me about the recording.

"Although the audio is faint, squatch vocals/words can be heard with headphones.
It started with me and a buddy returning to a location in Bernheim Forest where we had previously heard knocks coming from multiple directions, about a couple months prior (also on my youtube channel).
This time though we decided to start walking off trail straight up a knob.  We were the only people parked in the back area of the forest this day.  Well, we got about 100 yards up the knob, then all of a sudden I hear a bestial-sounding voice coming from further up the hill, it kind of sounded Native and/or Spanish, but ya it freaked me out just from the tone, and that it seemed directed toward us.
I couldn't see anything but it was loud at first so I kinda backed down the hill about 15 yards or so and flipped the camera on, that's when I got the vocals on this clip.

After they stopped vocalizing at us, we were too intimidated to continue up the hill further, as all I had at that point was a knife.  Also, we realized there were probably 4 or more of them further up the knob in random spots, and that was a bit more than we bargained for, so we called it a day.  I hope to get some good visual evidence in the future though."

Here is the video
is this a bigfoot
Bigfoot?
A few days ago I ran across the above photo and here is the story behind it.

This picture was reportedly taken by Jeff Robinson, he was on a camping trip when he heard some sounds outside of his tent. So he takes his camera phone and takes a picture, he was thinking it might be a deer, but the above photo is what turned out. Or so the story goes.

I attempt to contact Mr. Robinson via email but have not heard back from him. I wanted to ask some questions about the photo and how it came about. The photo was posted on a questionable site, Beacon bigfoot, but they were helpful in giving me the contact information.

Squirrel Hunter see a bigfoot
Mock up of the sighting

This report shared by our friends at Appalachian Bigfoot of KY and VA. Make sure to give their facebook page a visit.

This is 2 sightings by Jonathan Isom, as he reported them to Appalachian Bigfoot of  KY and VA. This is in the Letcher county area of Kentucky.

-Start Reports-
"My name is Jonathan Ison and I live in the hills and hollers of Letcher co Kentucky.
Today I want to share my stories of sightings of Bigfoot that I encountered while hunting in the Premium and UZ area.

Now I know that there is a lot of non believers in the world, but for me it's as real as God to me. Well I'll go ahead and get started.
My first encounter was when I was about 12 years old and I was squirrel hunting in a holler in Premium alone. I had hunted all morning and I was headed to the house on my way out of the hills I got an odd feeling that something was following me and I could also hear it behind me, but every time I turned to see what it was I didn't see anything .

It wasn't until about the third time I turned that I actually seen what it was and I couldn't believe my eyes, I was so young I was scared and I didn't know what to think because there standing before me was a monster in my eyes .
It was standing at about seven foot tall and had dark brown and black hair all over it and I also noticed that it had opposable thumbs. When I noticed that it wasn't there to hurt me , he turned and walked away and as he did I noticed that he had a darker colored main on his back from the top of his head to the bottom of his back . But as my heart was still pounding I got nervous and ran all the way home .
Premium, Letcher county, KY
My second encounter however was in the year 2006 and it was just like yesterday. I had got hurt in the mines in August 2005 and I was just learning to walk on crutches and it was turkey season so I decided to go and try to hunt, but in my condition I couldn't go alone for safety reasons. With all that said I had to take my cousin Casey Brown with me .
Well we was riding the four wheeler through the woods and got close to my spot when he ask me what that smell was, and ask me if I had past gas and I laughed and said no and then I smelled it and ask him and he said no as well. The smell was horrible it was like I mix between sewer and deer guts and vomit it was and awful smell it was breath taking .
As we turned the curve at about 20 yards from us sitting in the road kneeling on one knee was a creature as it stood it was also around 7 foot but instead of being dark brown and black he was a lighter color with a white pale face, it looked sick but in a hurry, after a few minutes of a stair off he turned and walked over the hill.
As he left we noticed that he also had a main but it was Snow White. My cousin was amazed he didn't know what to think and couldn't speak and all I could say was I told u, I told u, I told u he was real. I've also heard moans and groans in that same area of UZ and Premium ."

Thanks goes to Appalachian Bigfoot of  KY and VA and Mr. Isom for sharing the reports with us.

The Flatwoods Monster
Flatwoods Monster Newspaper Clipping

The Flatwoods Monster - is known as the Braxton County Monster or the Phantom of Flatwoods.
It is an alleged unidentified extraterrestrial or cryptid reported to have been sighted in the town of  Flatwoods in Braxton County, West Virginia on September 12, 1952.
Here is a map of the town of  Flatwoods
Town of Flatwoods
town of Flatwoods
On an episode of MonsterQuest the Flatwoods monster was referred to as Lizard Monster.

The description of the unknown creature varies a little. Most agree that it was at least 10 feet (3 m) tall and that it had a red face which appeared to glow from within, and a green body. The creature's body was described as being man-shaped and clad in a dark pleated skirt; later described as being green. Some accounts record that the creature had no visible arms, while others describe it as having short, stubby arms; ending in long, claw-like fingers, which protruded from the front of its body.
There was also a large, pulsating, red ball of light that hovered above or rested upon the ground associated with the Flatwoods monster, that has led many to believe it is UFO related.

Here is the Sept. 12, 1952 account of this event. (Wikipedia)
-Start-
At 7:15 PM on September 12, 1952, two brothers, Edward and Fred May, and their friend Tommy Hyer (ages 13, 12, and 10 respectively) witnessed a bright object cross the sky. The object appeared to come to rest on land belonging to local farmer G. Bailey Fisher.
Upon witnessing the object, the boys went to the home of the May brothers' mother, Kathleen May, where they reported seeing a UFO crash land in the hills. From there, Mrs. May accompanied by the three boys, local children Neil Nunley (14) and Ronnie Shaver (10), and 17-year-old West Virginia National Guardsman Eugene 'Gene' Lemon, traveled to the Fisher farm in an effort to locate whatever it was that the boys had seen.

Lemon's dog ran ahead out of sight and suddenly began barking, and moments later ran back to the group with its tail between its legs. After traveling about ¼ of a mile (400 m) the group reached the top of a hill, where they reportedly saw a large pulsating "ball of fire" about 50 feet (15 m) to their right. They also detected a pungent mist that made their eyes and noses burn. Lemon then noticed two small lights over to the left of the object, underneath a nearby oak tree and directed his flashlight towards them, revealing the creature, which was reported to have emitted a shrill hissing noise before gliding towards them, changing direction and then heading off towards the red light. At this point the group fled in panic.

Upon returning home Mrs. May contacted local Sheriff Robert Carr, and Mr. A. Lee Stewert, co-owner of the Braxton Democrat, a local newspaper. Stewert conducted a number of interviews and returned to the site with Lemon later that night where he reported that "there was a sickening, burnt, metallic odor still prevailing". Sheriff Carr and his deputy Burnell Long searched the area separately, but reported finding no trace of the encounter.
Early the next morning; on Saturday September 13, Mr. A Lee Stewart visited the site of the encounter for a second time and discovered two elongated tracks in the mud, as well as traces of a thick black liquid. He immediately reported them as being possible signs of a saucer landing based on the premise that the area had not been subjected to vehicle traffic for at least a year. It was later revealed that the tracks were likely to have been those of a 1942 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by local Max Lockard, who had gone to the site to look for the creature some hours prior to Stewert's discovery.

After the event, Mr. William and Donna Smith, investigators associated with Civilian Saucer Investigation, LA, obtained a number of accounts from witnesses who claimed to have experienced a similar or related phenomena. These accounts included the story of a mother and her 21 year-old-daughter, who claimed to have encountered a creature with the same appearance and odor a week prior to the September 12 incident; the encounter reportedly affected the daughter so badly that she was confined to Clarksburg Hospital for three weeks. They also gathered a statement from the mother of Eugene Lemon, in which she said that, at the approximate time of the crash, her house had been violently shaken and her radio had cut out for 45 minutes, and a report from the director of the local Board of Education in which he claimed to have seen a flying saucer taking off at 6:30 on the morning of September 13 (the morning after the creature was sighted).

After encountering the creature, several members of the September 12 group reported being overcome with similar symptoms which persisted for some time, which they attributed to having been exposed to the mist emitted by the creature. The symptoms included irritation of the nose and swelling of the throat. Lemon suffered from vomiting and convulsions throughout the night, and had difficulties with his throat for several weeks afterward.
A doctor who treated several of the witnesses is reported to have described their symptoms as being similar to victims of mustard gas, though such symptoms are also commonly found in sufferers of  hysteria, which can be brought on by exposure to a traumatic or shocking event.
 - End-

This event made Newspapers

Much like the Mothman, the Flatwoods Monster is dismissed by many as just being an Owl. The description of  the two creatures are similar but are they truly connected?

Here is a photo of the witnesses
The Monster Stood right on the spot where Mrs. Kathleen May and these six boys pose for the photographer, according to their stories. Shown are Mrs. May, her two sons, Edward and Theodore, and Eugene Lemon, Ronald Shaver, Theodore Neal and Neal Nunley, all of Flatwoods. They're standing pat on their story that they saw a huge, green monster on this spot Friday night following the flight of a meteorite through West Virginia skies.

It's been 60 years after this event and it is still being talked about. The town of Flatwoods proudly displays "Home of the Green Monster" on it's welcome sign, not shying away from the story. They even have a 3 day festival, it is a 3 day festival starting on a Friday and ending Sunday afternoon, a weekend of live music, the Green Monster museum and trips to the site. There is also a Facebook page, find it HERE.

This case was also investigated by famous cryptozoologist Ivan Sanderson, which was made into a free documentary movie on Youtube.

There is a lot of information out there about The Flatwoods Monster and it has been investigated by many different people over the years and at the time right after the event. No clear cut explanation has come out to totally debunk the story.

I find the story interesting and think the witnesses had something out of the ordinary happen that evening.

Thanks
~Tom~

Bigfoot in Canada
Enchanted Forest, BC, Canada

Bigfoot Filmed in Enchanted Forest?

I have been taking some time and going back to some older videos that I enhanced and running them through some better software attempting to get a better video. This one here was a pretty good video, the quality is not that great but it could have very well been a real bigfoot. More details are below the video. Adjust to HD settings, it helps a little.

Flight path of UFO
approximate flight path of UFO
This report comes to us from Terry Hubbs.

Where: Knox County, Kentucky
Witnesses: Several
Date: Winter, 1975
Describe: UFO follows car

Here is what Terry told me about his sighting.
"We we're at a teachers meeting out at Cannon head start at the old rock building. It was around 1975, it was around 6 or 7 o'clock in the winter time, it was cold and the sky was clear.
A old man was looking out the window and he really looked mystified and said "what's that?"
A few people went over to the window and looked out.
I next remember we were in back seat of my grandmothers car going home and this thing (UFO) was following us.
I remember looking up at it, it was triangle shaped a lot of lights and a window on this side of  it, there was someone waving, I'll never forget it till the day I die.
I have wrestled with what it could have been, it floated. Last saw it at Knox cash jobbers (red dot on map) That's were they waved.
I have told very few people in my life, thinking people might say I was Coo coo."

So I ask Terry about the craft window lights and here was his reply.
"the interior lights were white."
I'm assuming it was pretty low, I ask
"it was, looked to be about I'm guessing 300 ft up."

Did the UFO just disappear or what happened to it?
Terry replied "I don't remember what happened to it. The last I remember (seeing it) was at Knox cash jobbers."
" I remember my granny saying "is it still up there?" "As we were driving before we got to Knox cash jobbers."

Terry finished up by saying "The thing had windows on the side of it and floated"

-End Report-

Thanks goes to Terry for sharing his UFO report.
Thanks

Bigfoot Seen in OR
Boomer Hill Area in OR

This investigation/research/report by TCC Team Members Bobby & Corinna Long
Both are avid outdoors people and good researchers.

-Report Start-

Boomer hill area.
Elevation 1728'
Gps 43.01081N x 123.41823W approximate.
Near Riddle and Myrtle Creek Oregon.
October 2008.

While deer hunting in the Boomer hill area Justin Camden, Cody Camden, and myself (Bobby Long) were traveling along a BLM road with a left hand high bank and a brush covered down hill side.
I was driving, Cody was in the passenger rear and Justin was out riding on the hood. My job was to drive and watch up the left side. Cody was watching the down hill side and Justin was watching the front and scanning ahead. He had me stop when a large cold black Bigfoot had ran across the road about 40 yards or less, it grabbed the top of the bank which was about 12 feet high and hoisted/leaped up into the trees. I only caught a glimpse of black from my position inside the truck. Cody also said he only seen a glimpse of black. Justin however seen the entire right to left crossing on two feet, he seen it reach up to the top of the bank and hoist/leap into the brush and trees.
He also explained he heard footfalls as he was running towards where it went up. We all heard brush breaking for about a minute after. Justin wanted to pursue it with his rifle but after explaining exactly what he seen I ask him to leave it be. We were all scared as hell but his adrenaline was pumping!

Description - Approximately 9 feet tall, Cold black hair glossy or maybe wet, Very muscular in build. Exclaims, "100% not a bear!!"
I only seen a flash and a hand mark in the top of the bank and heard the brush crashing. Justin came to me today and is positive it was Bigfoot. I am sure with his wildlife knowledge he isn't mistaking another animal in this report.

It is my opinion that the Bigfoot was getting away from other hunters and probably misjudged it's crossing point which allowed the sighting to occur.
I have found footprints in this area in the mud near a pond. We intend on a full investigation of this area very soon.
Witnesses - Justin Camden, Cody Camden, Bobby Long

Thanks Bobby

Bigfoot in VA
Mock up photo of the sighting

This report shared by our friends at Appalachian Bigfoot of KY and VA. Make sure to give their facebook page a visit.

REPORT FROM SANDY RIDGE NEAR COEBURN, VA.
The witness requested this be posted as anonymous

- Witness Report-
I do believe the sighting took place around the year 2000 in the summer or fall months so it's been awhile. Me and my girlfriend at the time (who became my wife then ex) was coming back from the late movie that we had watched in Coeburn, VA.
I don't recall what movie it was as we went frequently, but I do remember it was the late movie which started at 9 and ended around 11:30-12. We left Coeburn and was going across Sandy Ridge which is about 10 minutes or so from the movie theater. I estimate the time of the sighting was roughly between 11:50pm-12:20am.
It was a dark night out, and slightly foggy once we got to the top of Sandy Ridge. It was quiet in our vehicle, we weren't talking and in the distance in the headlights we saw a tall, dark, hairy, creature that walked up-right quickly from the left side of the road, crossed the full length of the road, then leaped across a ditch and a fence in one jump. I estimate the height of the "creature" to be between 6 and 7 feet tall.
We actually passed by where we saw it another couple of hundred feet before  I said "Oh my God did you just see what I saw? At which point my girlfriend said "Oh yes I did!". We were almost speechless.
We then tried to analyze it by trying to figure out what it could have been but we were at a loss. There are several houses in the area that the sighting occurred. There is a little store that was there at the time near where the sighting occurred.
When the creature jumped across the ditch and fence, it was into a small field. I have told many people over the years about the sighting. I have always been skeptical of a Bigfoot creature, but this sighting most definitely made me feel there is something unexplained out there.
I have went by that area many times and have kicked myself for not going back that night and looking harder for evidence. I know exactly where the event happened, probably within 50 feet. It would be difficult for a grown man to leap across that fence and I would say impossible for a grown man in a Bigfoot suit to do it.
-End Witness Report-

Here is a general map of the area

This report has a very good chance of being a bigfoot in my opinion. You got to think why would anyone be out in a suit that late at night running and jumping fences in front of cars. Thanks goes to Appalachian Bigfoot of  KY and VA for sharing the report with us.

Thanks
~Tom~

John Johnsen Interview
John L. Johnsen interview

[DF's Review of Hoax of the Century can be found HERE]

Bigfoot: A Skeptic’s Point of View
Interview With Videographer John L. Johnsen

Bigfoot videographer, John L. Johnsen no longer believes in Bigfoot. I spoke with him recently in length. He’s the co-creator of the documentary, The Hoax Of The Century – The Movie, that attempts to expose the Patterson-Gimlin film as a hoax. I was getting ready to review the DVD recently when it all took an interesting turn. It seems the more I learned about John Johnsen, the more intriguing his story became. John has had an interesting history with the subject of bigfoot, including associations with Dr. Jeff Meldrum and reputed hoaxer Tom Biscardi. In fact, he partnered with Biscardi in the making of this documentary. And this has caused controversy surrounding it ever since.

So John wanted to set the record straight about this film and his association with Biscardi, and give his views on the subject of Bigfoot and maybe a little glimpse into the reasons why he believes as he does now.

Dorraine: John, tell us about your work.

John: I am a retired freelance photographer and videographer with experience in chemical and digital photography and analog and digital video acquisition and editing. I lean towards nature topics and/or historical events, but have been involved in main stream filmmaking as well.

Dorraine: What started your interest in Bigfoot?

John: Bigfoot was an accidental topic for me. I was looking for a subject to "pay my dues" in as I switched gears in my retirement, going from event, corporate and product photography and videography to a more entertainment based format. So, I needed a subject that would be fun and interesting. At the time I retired the now defunct Outdoor Life Channel, a cable network, was featuring a show entitled "Mysterious Encounters" where a group of people traveled around the country following up on reports of strange events and creatures. So, using that show as a model, I decided to do a similar project with the idea that I would limit it to a single film before seeking a more serious venture. Obviously it didn’t quite work out that way as I found the topic exciting and intriguing.

Dorraine:  What are your views on the subject of the existence of Bigfoot?

John: When I started my first film I was open minded to a fault, but a general skeptic. Yet there seemed to be so much corroborating, anecdotal evidence that I was intrigued by the possibility that there was something to it all. I gradually became a believer, more or less, and that peaked when, in 2010, I had an ‘encounter" in the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area in western Kentucky. However, close scrutiny and the aid of Dr. Jeff Meldrum made short work of that and my belief was dashed by the elaborate hoax that had been perpetrated on me. I have to say that I now am a dyed in the wool skeptic and believe that, after six years in the field with all sorts of well-meaning people, and some who were not so well-meaning; the only place Bigfoot lives is in the minds of the believers.

Dorraine: Can you elaborate more on your association with Dr. Meldrum and the incident that seemed to clinch your skepticism?

John: I sent the alleged casting obtained from the LBL to Dr. Meldrum in 2011. His examination confirmed what I already suspected; that the casting was a fabrication made with the palm and heal of a human hand and with human fingers substituted for the toe impressions. In other words: a fake.

Dorraine:  How did you get involved with Tom Biscardi?

John: Tom Biscardi has an internet radio show. I was listening one night because I was tipped off that he would be mentioning me in a disparaging manor, criticizing me for being an "unknown" in the genre and knowing nothing about the topic. When I heard him start in about me on the show I called him on his personal cell number and left a message. He wasn’t expecting that. He called me back afterwards and we went at it. He apologized for making the comments and said he would like to meet me in person. He was coming to Carrabelle, Florida, to look at sightings there of an alleged black panther and wanted to know if I would be interested in joining him. I accepted as the very worst that could happen was that I simply made the two hour drive for nothing. When he met me he again apologized and paid for my lodging and some of my food as well. I went along with the crew to the areas where the cat had been seen and, after finding no evidence, we returned to the base hotel where we talked some. Biscardi said he wanted to do another film, Bigfoot Lives III, from a library of footage not used in his other two films. He also needed trailers made for a couple of older projects. He offered to pay me a percentage from the sales of these films and I accepted the job. But in the long run, the relationship soured over the Hoax project and I ended up having to get my media attorney involved to get satisfaction. The details of that are private, but suffice it to say that despite winning a small victory, it cost me more money than I received from Biscardi to get that satisfaction.

Dorraine: Did you know in advance that involvement with Biscardi could be risky? And if so,
what made it worth the risk?

John: I definitely knew Biscardi’s reputation before going in. I knew about the frozen Bigfoot fiasco in Georgia and the captive Bigfoot in California from years ago. I also had heard dozens of stories from the web (they can’t put anything on the internet that isn’t true…I heard that on the internet…), internet radio shows and forums about his escapades but I am the kind of person who will not make an assumption about someone based solely on the opinions of others. So, I went into the agreement with both eyes wide open and looking for problems. The main thing I wanted to prove or disprove were the claims by others that he was a hoaxer. Some people involved with the frozen Bigfoot fiasco claimed that, once he, Biscardi, discovered that the Georgia Boys were a fake, he became the driving force behind the whole thing. Others close to that incident weren’t talking but there was an unspoken air of agreement. As to what it was that made it worth it; I really didn’t see any benefit other than a few bucks coming in and an opportunity to see what was on his archived footage.

Dorraine: Are you still involved with him? Has this caused problems for you as far as marketing
the documentary?

John: I am no longer associated with Biscardi. I found no proof that he was involved with any hoaxes, but I did find proof, through personal experience, that he was a liar and a cheat. I terminated the relationship during the marketing phase of the project and sought the aid of my media lawyer to obtain satisfaction. I will not go into those proceedings except to say that I was, possibly, the only person to get blood from a stone.

Dorraine:  What prompted the production of this documentary? Whose idea was it and how
did it all start?

John: As Biscardi and I were discussing our other projects, the topic of the PG Film came up. Biscardi told me that he had footage of Heironimus and Philip Morris discussing their roles in the film. I proposed the project and it began in earnest as Tom went to interview Greg Long near Yakima and I went to Kentucky to interview Leroy Blevins. There was also footage from an investor in the project who gave Roger Patterson money to make the film.

Dorraine: What's your association with Greg Long, if any?

John: I have never visited with or spoken to Greg Long except to clarify certain aspects of his bio.

Dorraine: You described yourself as more of an open-minded/ skeptical believer when you started delving into the subject of bigfoot. And now you're definitely a more serious skeptic. What would you say drove your beliefs about the subject back then when you were more open to the possibility? What reasoning was behind that thinking at the time? And what drives your more serious skepticism now? What's at the core of it? What key thing changed in your mind?

John: The main thing that drove my on-the-fence belief was ignorance. I was ignorant of the way the so called Bigfoot Community functioned, or dysfunctioned. I had no idea where to begin so I began looking at forums. It took me months to find a forum with moderators and participants open minded enough to even talk to me. Then, the moderator at the time of the GCBRO, Bill Ribble, who is now deceased, set me up with a woman in Maydelle, Texas. She claimed to have a "clan" as she called it on her 160 acres of pine forest and creek bottoms. I arranged to visit her for the first field visit and off I went to Texas, a trip of some 1100 miles. My spirits were high all along the way. But when I arrived, a certain kind of reality set in, one that would repeat itself time after time in nearly every home visit scenario. The woman met me at a little general store in Maydelle. This place was in such poor repair that I had to literally walk around holes in the floor. We had some lunch and coffee and discussed the situation at her acreage, then I followed her to her home, a trailer set under some oak trees on a plot of land. It looked serene enough but as I approached, I saw that the trailer was dirty and in need of repair. There was yet another trailer, a single wide, which looked as if it had been dropped from the sky, its side torn open and groups of dogs and cats were moving in and out at will. There were two pit bulls chained up outside in the heat, and other dogs wandering the pasture amongst several sickly and starved looking horses. In a cage adjacent to the single wide trailer was a juvenile Turkey Vulture. In the yard was a pool of water which, as I approached, turned out to be raw sewage boiling up from an overflowing septic tank. Inside there were dirty cobwebs hanging off the ceiling every few inches, literally hundreds of them, and the furniture and carpeting looked as if someone had been mud wrestling on them.

We had a few hours before dark so I asked her to show me around and examine the property. She led me to her Nissan pickup, which had a large dent in one fender. The interior was absolutely packed with old papers and other trash, some of which I could see were "final notices" sent by credit card companies. We started down the embankments towards the creek bottoms as she pointed out various areas of activity including a nest of some sort that was very intriguing. But after an afternoon, an evening and yet another hot, non-productive day, I decided to pack it in a day early and head over to Conroe for a conference where I would meet MK Davis for the first time. I had slept in her daughter’s old bedroom and despite sleeping fully clothed with my jeans tucked into my boots I received hundreds of flea bites. The shower in that bedroom did not work, so I used the one in the master. There was so much trash along the tub, sink and in the shower that I almost declined. Water for coffee in the morning and brushing my teeth came from bottled water kept in the fridge.

When a friend of hers came over to discuss the film project with us I got a very rude awakening. I was told that I had to vacate the property due to the suspicion that I was a spy for the GCBRO and, because I copied my emails to Bill Ribble, I was "passing information" about the Texas folks’ plan to kill a bigfoot before the GCBRO did. Welcome to Texas, now GIT!

That was my initiation into the wonderful world of Bigfoot, and things got worse from there. But if I lost my faith in peoples’ abilities to live in reasonable cleanliness, I still had my hopes high in finding out more about the mystery. But, in the end, I saw most of the people I went to interview, with rare exception, living in deplorable conditions and providing nothing of substance in the way of evidence. Then, in 2010, it came to a head in the Land Between the Lakes with a hoaxing and the following year in Alabama when an outside director I brought hijacked the project and ruined everyone’s experience. That was my final trip and association with bigfooters.

Dorraine:  Why do you think people in the Bigfoot community don't want to hear this information?

John: If you were a true believer in a god, say, The Great Sam? You believed with your very soul in The Great Sam and accepted any and all things associated with The Great Sam, including personal accounts of people who claimed to have had a one on one encounter with The Great Sam. You are, by all standards, a follower of this god and would risk life and limb to defend his existence. Then, one day, you encounter a man who says that he invented The Great Sam as a hoax with the intent of cashing in on the myth. He tells you and shows you evidence of what he claims which would be very damning in a court of law. But, you refuse to believe him and call him a liar and a charlatan, even going so far as to defame him in public and in the media. This, I believe, is the trouble with believers in the PG Film. The basis for their belief in Bigfoot, in general, is rooted in their belief that the PG Film was real inasmuch as it showed a real, flesh and blood, Bigfoot creature. The PG Film has a religious quality to it and those who believe in it will not even consider the possibility that it was a fake. This amounts to a brand of fanaticism that has been demonstrated to be extremely dangerous, giving those who believe a sort of mission to squash the nay sayers. It gets VERY ugly at times around campfires and certainly in forums. Belief in something doesn’t make it real.

Dorraine: Many in the BF community reading this interview might say you were burned on a couple of bad experiences and you've allowed yourself to shut down completely to any possibility that the creature might exist. In a friendlier debate, like, say, one you'd have with me, what would you say to me if I posed that point?

John: I would say that even the friendliest, cleanest living, most honest, kind and caring of the people I met did not produce a shred of evidence I could take to the bank, bar none.

Dorraine: Looking back on this, what would you have done differently, if anything, in regard
to this project?

John: The only changes I would have made would be in the manner with which I approached my partnership, not in the content of the film.

Dorraine: I've looked on the internet, and can't find the documentary available anywhere significant except Tom Biscardi's website. What's the status on the DVD for you? Are you still marketing it? Is there anywhere else a person could obtain it?

John: I have made it my policy to make any of my films available no charge to what I consider people who are truly seeking the truth in this matter, who do not belong to organizations or clubs where the good of the organization comes before the truth, and who honestly want to see if anything I discovered can help them find the truth. So, if someone meeting those criteria comes to me and asks for a copy, I will see that they get one. However, if, in return, I hear that they have used the content of the film to make slanderous or libelous remarks about me or anyone in the films, I will put them on notice through my personal attorney and demand a very public retraction. In that respect I have been described as a Pit Bull on steroids, refusing to relinquish a hold on my quarry.

Dorraine:  What do you want people to understand about you and this documentary right now?

John: People need to put aside preconceived notions of this film that are based solely on opinions of others, and see the evidence as it really is. Greg Long has no agenda. He comes off as angry in the film but that is with good reason. He has been called a liar. Long is not a liar, he is a very well qualified investigative reporter and technical writer who had the good sense to go to Yakima and snoop around. Nobody did this…ever! Heironimus did not lie about wearing the suit. He wore it. Morris did not lie about selling the suit to Patterson. He sold the suit and the extra raw materials which Patterson used to craft the final product. Hieronimus’s mother did not lie about what she saw in the trunk of the car. Vilma Radford did not lie about giving Patterson money to invest in his film. These people told the truth. But, through the magic of hear-say and deliberate manipulation, they have all been made out to be liars. The truth is plain and simple; it was a hoax.

As to me, I also have no agenda. But I have learned by experience over the course of more than six years of associating with the Bigfoot Community, that there is precious little truth to be found and the community shoots and eats it’s wounded. I set out on a single project that evolved into a quest for the truth and worked side by side with those in my films to find and share that truth. But, what I received instead was scorn and deception right from the very beginning. God only knows what I would have received if I had been against them from the start.

In closing I will reiterate what I have said before: if you truly believe that you have seen a Bigfoot, then you are in error, having mistaken some other animal or human for the creature. However, if you INSIST that it was Bigfoot, and no amount of common sense or reasoning can convince you otherwise, then you are, at best, delusional. Finally, if you are convinced that you have seen a Bigfoot and can speak telepathically with it then seek emergency psychiatric care.

Bigfoot got its start in Northern California around machinery owned by a man named Ray Wallace, and has crept into the very souls of our culture. It was a hoax, people…it was a hoax.

Dorraine: Thanks for talking to me about this, John. It’s been interesting and the film is definitely interesting, no matter what a person believes. ********DF

(John added later that he will be looking into possibly beginning sale of the DVD again on Amazon if the demand is there)

Review: Hoax Of The Century – The Movie
Examining A Controversial Documentary

I’m a bigfoot believer. So when I was recently given a copy of "Hoax Of The Century – The Movie by a friend who is also a bigfoot believer, I thought seriously about NOT watching it. This movie attempts to refute the validity of the famous Patterson-Gimlin film. How ridiculous is that, I thought? Everyone knows that film is real. Right? But then I had to ask myself why I didn’t want to watch the documentary.

The Patterson-Gimlin film, the one bigfoot film that nearly everyone is familiar with, is the considered The Holy Grail of bigfoot evidence. It’s the one most in the bigfoot community believe to be the real and true film footage. It sets the standard for the appearance of this creature that nearly every bigfoot researcher uses to determine the validity of sightings reports and other video footage to this day. How many times have we heard a report and asked the storyteller, "Did it look like Patty? Did it look like the creature in the Patterson-Gimlin film?" Patty, as she is well-known, is considered the one real bigfoot that we use for our frame of reference. She’s been analyzed by National Geographic. She had to be real. Right?

This documentary, not currently available on Amazon, and now sold almost exclusively on Tom Biscardi’s website, a product of Grendel Films is about an hour long, written by Tom Biscardi, and produced by Tom Biscardi and videographer, John L. Johnsen, and goes about the task of following the investigation of Greg Long, author of The Making of Bigfoot, in a very detailed account of how they believe the film was hoaxed.

It asks the question rarely asked before. Why has so much emphasis been placed on this film and none on the maker of the film? It attacks the less-than-stellar reputation of Roger Patterson himself, a man who was described by many around him as often unemployed, often broke, and looking for ways to make a fast buck. A man who was once arrested for failing to return a camera he had borrowed from a local camera shop; a man who was known to have associated with Ray Wallace, the famous Washington State footprint hoaxer.

It claims that Patterson borrowed money from several individuals to make the film, including a lady named Vilma Radford, interviewed in the movie and now deceased, that loaned him $700.00 with the promise that profits from the film would pay her interest above and beyond that amount. Even though Radford typed up a legal contract for both parties to sign, (a document that was revealed in the documentary) and after she was warned by others not to loan Patterson the money. And incidentally, she attested to the fact that she was never repaid.

But there were a couple of things in the film that were very interesting to me personally.

A man named Bob Heironimus claims to have worn the suit that Philip Morris, a Hollywood costume designer, claimed to have designed as a gorilla suit and claimed was modified by Patterson. Heironimus claims he did the "performance" for Patterson for $1000.00, and tells his account of how the events unfolded that day in 1967. But the most interesting part of his story is his demonstration of the "Patty walk." Heironimus is seen in the documentary walking across his yard to a shed, and his normal walk is strikingly similar to Patty’s walk in the film. Striking enough to make you go "Hmmm!"

And the second thing is that I’ve always questioned why, if it was a hoax, would Patterson choose to make this creature a female? And, as the movie claims, Roger had early associations with famous pioneering researcher/author John Green from Canada. Green had collected a lot of information about bigfoot to which Patterson would have had access. This would include the very detailed, historic account of William Roe with a female bigfoot back in 1955 near Jasper, Alberta, Canada. After his encounter, Roe presented a drawing that bears an eerie resemblance to subject in the PG film. Did Patterson use Roe’s drawing to fashion a female bigfoot costume? Or was Patty real because she resembled Roe’s description? The documentary claims that Roe’s visual account could have easily been used by Patterson to refashion his gorilla suit into something more realistic.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg of what this documentary has to say. Every other argument we’ve ever made about the film being real is challenged here. Right down to the last detail. From the walk, to the elbow break, to the eye movement, etc. And it claims the PG film was embraced by the big name researchers at the time who knew that this "proof" of bigfoot could strengthen their own claims about the subject. It claims that the main motivating factor of all these key players in the bigfoot world choosing to believe Patterson’s claims was to make money.

John L. Johnsen’s collaboration with Tom Biscardi, a reputed hoaxer, would drive many to dismiss the film altogether. Could it be a complete fabrication by one accused of hoaxing himself? Absolutely. But, to be fair, it has an equal chance of being accurate and real based on the real witness interviews that are very detailed and backed up by others in Patterson’s hometown of Yakima, Washington.

But everything else aside, this documentary is well presented and thought provoking, and very thorough in the case it makes, whether you believe it or not. And it warrants a watch from any and all skeptics or anyone wanting to be well-rounded and objective about the subject of bigfoot.

And as I hesitated to watch it, and I didn’t like the story it had to tell, I knew I needed to keep some things in mind.

If the PG film was actually faked, what impact does that have on the community, and on bigfoot? What film evidence do we really have if not that? I have to admit it shook me a little to think about it. I felt for a minute like the very foundation of my beliefs was being stolen. But it’s important to remember that if the PG film is proved to be fake beyond a shadow of a doubt, that doesn’t prove in any way that bigfoot doesn’t exist. Far from it, because it doesn’t negate all the evidence that’s been collected by researchers over all these years and all their hard work in trying to find proof. All that work is completely relevant and important and it still stands up. Nothing can take that away.

But if you have a natural curiosity about this subject and you want to be very thorough in your bigfoot research, I recommend this film highly. You don’t have to like it. And you don’t have to agree with it. It’s just another side of the story. And, no matter what you end up thinking, it’s always good to hear the other side.

pterodactyl picture
Pterodactyl or Photoshop?
I really do not know where this story originally comes from but here it is nonetheless.

Reportedly this photo of a living pterodactyl was taken in 2005 by a couple on vacation in Brazil.
The couple was near a swamp when they took a picture of what they thought was a stork. They were about 200 feet away from the creature, according to the story.

While I think this photo is a hoax, there has been other photos and reports over the years of Pterodactyls, none of which are accepted as 100 percent real.

Here is a lightened version of the above photo.

pterodactyl
pterodactyl?
If you notice in the above photos there is no reflection of the Pterodactyl on the surface of the water while everything else is casting a reflection. So I can conclude it is a fake.

Do you think there could possibly be any living pterodactyl left? I know there are other reports of sightings and stuff. I wonder about places like the Congo, where it is estimated that 80 percent of the land is unexplored.
Share your thoughts.

Thanks
~Tom~

News DNA findings
Bigfoot: The New Evidence
Well, I just watched National Geographic's Bigfoot: The New Evidence and thought I'd share some of my thoughts about the program. First let me say I found the Derek Randles and the Igor Burtsev parts of the program very entertaining, the Justin Smeja part was pretty good as well but I'm not sold on his story.
As for the actual DNA study itself, I thought it would be more cut and dry. When the Sykes study was first announced I held hope that this study would be handled in a professional manner, and it appears that it was but the results are somewhat disappointing to me. I know for a fact that bigfoot is a 100 percent real creature and no one or any DNA results can ever change that. I know the research I've done, the evidence I have found and the encounters I've had and I know it is real.

I had this odd story from back in October but just kind of let it slip passed me. This is an odd story and a small Q & A with a lady named Sheri. What was these strange hands reaching under the door?

Here is what Sheri told me
"In my late teens and early 20's, I saw weird monkey-like hands or paws or whatever you want to call them, scrabbling beneath the space between the bottom of the door and kitchen floor that lead to the partially finished basement of our family home. In the basement there were two bedrooms, a bathroom and laundry area. We lived in North Battleford Saskatchewan at the time which is definitely not a tropical area because Saskatchewan is smack dab in the middle of Canada. Our winters are long and freezing cold. North Battleford is a very small prairie city without zoos of any kind. The monkey hands or paws or whatever they were, were witnessed twice. I was always with other people when I saw them. The hands were small in size like a spider monkey sort of but somehow different. They were covered with dark hair or fur and had long jointed humanoid fingers and long dark fingernails. The small arms were visible from just below where the elbows would be, exposing only the forearms of the creatures. Both times as they reached beneath the bottom of the door they would scrabble back and forth frantically, scratching loudly. There appeared to be at least two of them but their movements were so fast and so aggressive, it was hard to be sure. They scared the hell out of everyone. The first time I saw them I was with three of my girlfriends and the next time I was with my little brother and three of our cousins. I was always the one who would open the door. It took every last ounce of courage I could muster to do it. Everyone would be screaming and freaking out. I felt compelled to calm them down despite being terrified myself but each time I whipped that door open nothing would be there.

We had no evidence of wild animals being in our house. No scat or signs of destruction that would have been there had wild animals invaded the premises. We also had family pets, a dog and a cat who lived in our house. They most certainly would have reacted had wild animals been inside. Both times this event occurred, the dog had been at the lake with my parents but my Siamese cat, Jade, was home. For some reason he had stopped coming down to my basement bedroom to cuddle with me at night like he used to. At the time I didn’t know why. When we saw these creatures, Jade would poke his head into the kitchen to see what all the commotion was about.

These creatures we saw felt somehow "wrong". They were very frightening experiences filled with a sense of evil. I am writing this to see if anyone else in this big old world has ever had a similar experience. I am baffled by what I witnessed; maybe somebody can help me put this experience to rest.
Q: was the nails like human nails? how big would you guess the hands to be in inches across?

A: The hands were as I said the size of a spider monkey ...about the size of a large raccoon. The nails on the hands looked more humanoid than animal which was why they were so scary. Remember, they were moving very fast and frantic, making a lot of noise. The hair was not thick like fur more like really hairy... in inches across I would estimate that the hands were 1 and 3/4 to 2 inches across.
It was a horrifying experience.

Q: Could it have possibly been a large coon?

A: There were two sets of arms ...absolutely not wild animals such as coons ...the arms were sort of boney and hairy...not furry. I have seen coons and these were different. Besides, how would coons get in the house? Where were they when I flung open the door? The door lead down to our basement from the kitchen. When I flung the door open there was nothing on the landing and wouldn't coons tear the house apart looking for food? Wouldn’t they leave signs like damage, hair or scat....? Seriously it was bone chilling. Everyone was screaming....it came on suddenly and ended abruptly when I opened the door. Each episode only lasted a couple of minutes. They were about 2 years apart.

Has anyone else had anything like this happen? could it be some kind of dark energy? If anyone has any thing to add please feel free to do so.

Thanks goes to Sheri for sharing her story.

Thanks
~Tom~

bigfoot howls
Carter County - Possible Bigfoot Howls

Possible Bigfoot Howls Recorded in Kentucky

This was recorded in Grahn, KY by Tabatha Steagall and she was nice enough to give me permission to use it and enhance the audio.
Now I don't know for sure if this is a bigfoot but there has been a lot of activity coming out of Carter County Kentucky for many years now, so it is very possible it is a bigfoot.
Tabatha told me about the time she let her young son make some bigfoot calls and was awed when they heard replies.  That event happened about 1 year ago.

Here is the video

Kentucky is home to bigfoot
Carter County, Kentucky
These two bigfoot sighting reports come out of Carter County Kentucky. The reports were given to us by Tabatha Steagall and they are of her personal sightings. This is her written account of what she saw.

- Sighting Report 1 -
"My shortest sighting happened when I was a teenager in the late 90's. Not sure the exact date. I was throwing out scraps to the horses after dinner, I was standing by the fence, in the field about 40 or 50 foot away stood a big man looking thing, it looked like a Neanderthal. I actually spent years thinking it was a ghost of a Neanderthal! I promise I'm not nuts! But after watching the Finding Bigfoot show for a season or two it just dawned on me that it was probably and more likely a bigfoot! It was huge, terrifyingly huge. I couldn't make out much about it and didn't stick around to either. All I could see was that it was dark in color, there was only moon light to see by.
It stood perfectly still didn't move at all. I don't even know if I was looking at the back side or the front. I did see hair that fell in different layers around its head and kind of flared outwards. I don't know how I even seen that much but that is the one thing I did see. My dad went to find it when I came back in and told my family, but it was gone. Didn't really put much thought into it other than it was ghost. Not even when I seen the real deal around the same time."

-End Report 1 -

Bigfoot in Carter, KY
Mock up of sighting report 2
-Sighting Report 2 -
"In February of 1998 we had a huge ice storm. I remember it so well because my sister had got hit by a car on Feb 2nd (and only suffered a hurt leg thankfully), and the storm came late that night. We lost power for 6 days. Everything we had in the deep freezer went bad and my Dad had sacked it up and put it outside by the gas tank to throw out later.
We had to cook out with a grill to feed my family & my Mamaw & Papaw all week (I think the smell may have drawn him in, but anyways).
The night the electric came on me and my dad were watching TV and the porch light was on. I glanced at the window and seen what looked like a man carrying our bag of meat. And that’s when I screamed "some man is stealing our rotted meat". I seen it run up the steps and it had black hairy legs. I could see that the hair was attached to the body as it moved, if that makes any sense! I don't know if I would say I seen the muscles but more so like it wasn't saggy.
Anyways, the porch light didn't light up the whole steps, so it was gone out of sight pretty quickly. My dad and me jumped up and we could hear it crashing through the woods about 15 or so feet up into the woods, and then it was silent, I'm assuming it jumped a fence and went into the neighbors cow field where it would make less noise while making its escape.
And the next morning my dad found the bag and the meat was gone, but the butter and the fries were still in the bag. My dad said that the bag wasn't opened like an animal chewed it but more like a person would open it.
I always wondered why it came so close to the house, but after watching Finding Bigfoot I learned that they don't like to leave tracks, and where the water came off the roof there was no snow, but up higher in the yard there was still snow. I don't remember looking that good for tracks then, just around the house, too bad I didn't have the knowledge I have today, but at least I seen it. I feel pretty lucky to have seen what I have seen, but I don't know if luck has anything to do with it when you live in Grahn! I think we are surrounded by them.”

Here is a general map of Grahn,KY
-End Report 2 -

Thanks goes to Tabatha for sharing the reports. Over the years Carter county has been an active bigfoot sighting area and it appears it is continuing. Anyone with sightings from that area or anywhere should feel free to contact us.

Thanks
~Tom~
