Indigenous people
Bigfoot DNA Results - Indigenous People?

With all the DNA statements and posts flying around, there has been a whirlwind of activity, excitement, and speculation on what it all means.
A statement by Russian researcher Igor Burtsev got the DNA ball back rolling so to speak. His original statement got Dr. Ketchum to respond but Igor's later statement has gone somewhat under the radar.
Here is part of what Igor's recent statement said:

"We waited a couple of years for the scientific publication by Dr. Melba Ketchum. But scientific magazines refuse to publish her manuscript which deserves to be published. And I want to remind you some facts of the destiny of scholars in our field..."

Igor's statement says that the DNA paper will not be published by a scientific magazine, does this mean it will be published in some other type of magazine or does it mean it will not be published at all?

Then you have the second statement by Dr. Ketchum that says the paper is  "currently under peer-review" and that "Government at all levels must recognize them as an indigenous people...and protect their human and Constitutional rights"

Really?

Indigenous peoples -  Primarily refer to ethnic groups that have historical ties to groups that existed in a territory prior to colonization or formation of a nation-state, and which normally preserve a degree of cultural and political separation from the mainstream culture and political system of the nation-state within the border of which the indigenous group is located.

So would this be the North American Indians? I have heard and read in the past that bigfoot may be a lost Indian tribe.  Also, it is important to note that "IF" it can be confirmed that in fact, bigfoot is some type of lost indigenous people, special laws are already in place to protect them.  A special set of political rights in accordance with international law have been set forth by international organizations such as the United Nations, the International Labour Organization, and the World Bank. The United Nations has issued a Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples to protect the collective rights of Indigenous peoples to their culture, identity, language, employment, health, education, and natural resources.

What would this mean if it was proven, would it open a whole new can of worms? I would think so. Also if and once this is proven to be indigenous people there really would not be a need for new protection laws as they are already in place.

Dr. Ketchum's statement also stated another interesting conclusion:
"Our data indicate that the North American Sasquatch is a hybrid species, the result of males of an unknown hominin species crossing with female Homo sapiens."

So it would appear that a male something had sexual intercourse with a human female and produced bigfoot.

It is also very important to realize NOTHING has been officially proven yet. There has been no media coverage and no paper published. One would think that something of this size and importance would have got major media coverage, right?
So far all we have got to go on is some Facebook posts, while the statements have created a buzz in the Bigfoot community, nothing is official yet.

In the coming weeks and maybe months it will be interesting to see just how this all plays out. At what point will the News media get involved ...or will they? will the paper and findings be published and if so in what magazine? will there be a need for new protection laws?

It seems we still have many unanswered questions.

Thanks
Tom

  1. Until this is official through peer review, protections can't take place. No official would allow that. I am not certain why something like this, which should be of enormous anthropological, religious, scientific importance, is being held down by peer review and not released yet. I find that aspect highly suspicious. I like what Melba is saying about the DNA and it jives with what I have always believed they would find, but no offense to her - I'd like to hear it from someone who reviewed it and not just this one person who says she represents the research. I will be relieved when we prove BF, mostly to get the guys with guns out of the woods once it is established that this is human. I guess the next great conversation is "what constitutes being human?" Feral humans are still human. Those with very low IQs are still human. So, where you live and your IQ do not constitute being called human. It must be DNA.

  2. I have a bit of a different point of view, maybe there's something they don't want us to know about the big guy, otherwise you're right this would be posted on the front page of every newspaper in the world. Anthropologically it is the biggest find since the Silverback Gorilla and that's an understatement. We need a professional to answer some of these questions. We need the news media to get involved. we need we need we need... I haven't heard the point of view from world renowned DR. Jeff Meldrum. I will forward this to him on Facebook and get some real answers about what's going on as far is this DNA testing.

    2. Thanks Tim, Please let us know if Dr. Meldrum makes a statement.

    3. Dr. Meldrum is on the BFRO/Moneymaker bandwagon with the theory that Sasquatch is a "North American Ape." That's just wrong (according to the DNA).
